Gathered Scarf- easy knit pattern

This is a very easy stitch that you can use for anything.
I decided to make a scarf.
You will need about 300gms of yarn - I used Ice sequins which is 45% kid mohair.
Best is using a sock weight yarn, and larger needles

cast on 49 stitches, using #5 US needles
Knit stocking stitch all along for this, the pattern is as follows:
Knit 10 rows ending with a Knit row.
turn,
(pattern)now on the purl row knit 9, with the Right hand needle pich up a stitch about 5 rows below the 10th row and put it on the left hand needle.
Knit the 10th stitch and the picked up stitch together
repeat K9, pick up stitch etc till end of row.
knit 5 rows, ending again with a K row
Now do the pick up stitch again but this time, k4, pick up stitch,* K9, pick up stitch* and continue to end
Knit 5 rows,(end pattern)

Repeat till the scarf is as long as you like
EASY!!

What i also like is that the stocking stitch curves around so that it looks like you have a tube - very soft and effective

Love the gathered lime green scarf, but I do not understand the directions. I can't see the pictures well enough. At beginning you say "knit 10 rows, end with a knit row", but if I'm knitting every row they are _all_ knit rows. Then you say "on the purl row", but you never said to purl any rows as you said to knit 10 rows. Elsewhere , you say the stockinette makes the edges curl, (true) but if I'm knitting all 10 rows that makes garter stitch. You can see how confused I am LOL. Any chance you could email the directions to lkellison@webtv.net.?

I am not the author, but you caught a mistake. She meant stockinette stitch ten rows and, ending on a knit row...go to the wrong side and start the grabbing of stitches to create the effect. Does that make sense....?

2 needle fingerless gloves

This is an easy pattern that can be adapted according to your skill. I used worsted weight yarn and US 5 needles. You need just over 50gms of yarn. I also found that knitting them both at the same times ensures that they bout turn out the same ! Cast on 42 sts Knit 20 rows in k2 p2 rib on the 20th row place markers this way: k20 place marker, k2, place marker, k20 the 2 sts between the markers will form the increase for the thumb. An easy shawl pattern

I wrote this as i knitted it so if you find any mistakes let me know! The cast on sts are the top of the shawl, the cast off will be the bottom. This is a very basic pattern that you can then embellish - i used an eyelet pattern on random rows.(k2tog YO) The first stitches should not be slipped (as i usually do when knitting) but knitted.
