berry hat fun and easy to make

Materials 1 skein of Pure Romney British yarn 6mm needles Abbreviations k = knit p = purl st(s) = stitch(es) p3tog = insert RH needle purlwise into next three stitches and purl them together inc 2 = (k1, p1, k1) into same st Tension 16 stitches x 16 rows 10cm x 10cm Blackberry stitch 6mm needles HAT Using 6mm needles, cast on 82 sts [] Row 1: (p1, k3) to last two sts, p2 [] Row 2: p1, (k1, p3) to last st, k1 Repeat these two rows twice more [] Row 7 (wrong side): k1, (p3tog, inc 2 in next st) to last st, k1 [] Row 8: p [] Row 9: k1, (inc 2 in next st, p3tog) to last st, k1 [] Row 10: p Rows 7­-10 set Blackberry pattern [] Repeat Rows 7­-10 until hat is approximately 22cm long, finishing after a Row 8 or 10 [] Cast off knitwise. Easy pointy Pixie hat

Great for beginners! I used 50gms bulky yarn and #13 US needles. I dont use circular needles so this is for those like me who use 2 needles! cast on 50 sts. Knit 6 to 8 rows in garter stitch (all knit) change to knit stitch (1row K 1 row P) and knit 5 inches. decrease: K8, k2 tog repeat till end Purl K7, k2 tog, repeat till end Purl K6, k2 tog, repeat till end See a pattern forming? knit until 10 sts are left Cut off  yarn leaving a long tail thread tail through the 10 sts and gather up. Sew down back READY!!!

Berets and Beanies

My latest project! I can't use circular needles so I adapted a pattern to use regular needles Here is the pattern: Now you will need to use some imagination, no need to follow this pattern exactly but if you get the idea you can adapt it to different weights of yarn I used size 10 needles and a bulky weight yarn Cast on 63 sts Knit 8 to 10 rows in rib (K1 P1) next row: switch to stocking stitch 1. k8 m1 in 9th stitch, repeat till end 2. purl 3. k9 m1 in 10th stitch, repeat till end 4.and all even rows Purl 5. k10 m1 in 11th stitch, repeat till end 7.  k11 m1 in 12th stitch, repeat till end. Continue in stocking stitch  for about 4 inches start decrease. all even rows are in purl 1. k12, k2 tog repeat till end 3. k11, k2tog, repeat till end 5.k 10, k 2 tog repeat till end follow this way till a few stitches are left runt the thread through the stitches and sew up the sides!
