This is a very easy stitch that you can use for anything. I decided to make a scarf. You will need about 300gms of yarn - I used Ice sequins which is 45% kid mohair. Best is using a sock weight yarn, and larger needles cast on 49 stitches, using #5 US needles Knit stocking stitch all along for this, the pattern is as follows: Knit 10 rows ending with a Knit row. turn, (pattern)now on the purl row knit 9, with the Right hand needle pich up a stitch about 5 rows below the 10th row and put it on the left hand needle. I have had a few requests for this pattern so i will give it a shot. Requirements: you will need to know how to cable! The idea is simple. Using irregular cables, you can create a unique look. Use the following cables as an example 1. simple cable : 2p 6K 2p, cable the 6K. 2. Double cable - as above and repeat after 4 rows to get the double twist 3. Double elongated cable - like 1 but repeated after 8 rows. Ok, so if you have understood the above lets give it a go.  You will need US size 10 needles and any yarn that goes with them. If in doubt, use thinner rather than thicker yarn. If the knitting is too tights it wont look good. I used knitpicks worsted 100% wool. About 100 gms should do. I wrote this as i knitted it so if you find any mistakes let me know! The cast on sts are the top of the shawl, the cast off will be the bottom. This is a very basic pattern that you can then embellish - i used an eyelet pattern on random rows.(k2tog YO) The first stitches should not be slipped (as i usually do when knitting) but knitted.
