I came across this great post and a link to a pattern which has a great sweater so useful when you live in a hot climate but the AC inside is always freezing! You can read it HERE And below is a summary..... " The Arizona Desert in the summer is hot, but the AC is not.  Most buildings are air conditioned to a surprisingly cool temperature, although even 80 degrees is chilly after being in 110+ degrees. AC-Proof Sweater Lace Detail To ward off the summer indoor chill, the AC-Proof Destashification Sweater was knit. The pattern used was a combination of two patterns.  The  Oriel Lace Cardigan  by Kirsten Hipsky  is what the cardigan was based on, but the lace pattern came from Bamboozle Cropped Lace Cardigan  by  Gail Tanquary ."

My latest project is triangular scarves or shawls - depending on how big you make them. I have figured out a basic pattern that you can then customize as you wish. I will explain the basics here and also some of the customization I made. Use any yarn you like with the corresponding needles about a size or 2 larger than recommended, CO 6 stitches Row 1 - K row 2 - K row 3 - k 2, m1k1 place marker  k1 m1 k to end (now for the first m1,  purl in the stitch, don't drop it and knit in the same stitch (2 sts) for the 2nd M1,  knit in the stitch, don't  drop it and Purl in the same stitch.) you have a total of 8 sts row 4 knit the 1st 3 sts, purl to last 3 sts, knit last 3 sts. Now the pattern starts - these 2 rows will be kept constant throughout 1-K3, YO, K to stitch before marker M1K1 move marker K1M1 knit to last 3 sts YO knit 3 2-K3 P to last 3 sts K3 You will go on this way . I used the basic shawl pattern  and keeping the increases on the sides and middle, incorporated colors and patterns to make different designs.

This is a super easy scarf to knit - even for a beginner. As always I am hopeless writing patters but I shall give this a try: Use large needles - I used a US 10. You will need lots of different yarns, more or less the same weight and in the colors of your choice. I cast on 50 stitches. Then knitted up the yarns randomly, but attaching the ends using a knot and bow. I didn't join the yarn as one should (hiding the ends) but instead emphasized the join. - Does that make sense? Knit, using stocking stitch, or knit stitch for as long as you like! It will be almost reversible. Also, make sure you change color randomly as you want to avoid a stripy effect.
